A difficult proposition, to be 9 sure. We are, after all, complicated creatures. Fortunately, Viget 10 Extend is here to help. Here are some gifts your nerd is sure to love. 11 12 {{<dither dce_iamakey.jpg "" "inline">}}A silver key with a rectangular head and a small round hole, shown upright with the blade pointing down against a white background.{{</dither>}} [**Lacie iamaKey Flash Drive**](https://www.amazon.com/LaCie-iamaKey-Flash-Drive-130870/dp/B001V7XPSA) **($30)** 13 14 If your nerd goes to tech conferences with any regularity, your 15 residence is already littered with these things. USB flash drives are a 16 dime a dozen, but this one's different: stylish and rugged, and since 17 it's designed to be carried on a keychain, it'll always around when your 18 nerd needs it. 19 20 {{<dither dce_aeropress.jpg "" "inline">}}A hand presses down on the plunger of a tall, clear coffee maker positioned over a glass mug.{{</dither>}} [**AeroPress**](https://www.amazon.com/AeroPress-Coffee-and-Espresso-Maker/dp/B000GXZ2GS) **($25)** 21 22 A simple device that makes a cup of espresso better than machines 23 costing twenty times as much. Buy this one for your nerd and wake up to 24 delicious, homemade espresso every morning. In other words, it's the 25 gift that keeps on giving. If espresso gives your nerd the jitters, you 26 can't go wrong with a [french 27 press](https://www.amazon.com/Bodum-Chambord-4-Cup-Coffee-Press/dp/B00012D0R2/). 28 29 {{<dither dce_charge_tee.jpg "" "inline">}}A gray T-shirt with a black battery icon containing a lightning bolt.{{</dither>}} [**SimpleBits Charge Tee**](http://shop.simplebits.com/product/charge-tee-tri-blend) **($22)** 30 31 Simple, vaguely Mac-ish graphic printed on an American Apparel Tri-Blend 32 tee, no lie the greatest and best t-shirt ever created. 33 34 {{<dither dce_hard_graft.jpg "" "inline">}}A brown rectangular object rests on a shallow silver tray against a dark background, with small red lights nearby.{{</dither>}} [**Hard Graft iPhone Case**](http://shop.hardgraft.com/product/base-phone-case) **($60)** 35 36 Your nerd probably already has a case for her iPhone, but it's made of 37 rubber or plastic. Class it up with this handmade leather-and-wool case. 38 Doubles as a slim wallet if your nerd is of the minimalist mindset, and 39 here's a hint: we all are. 40 41 {{<dither dce_ignore.jpg "" "inline">}}A white poster featuring small close-up photos of bare skin across the top and a larger cropped photo of a bare torso below.{{</dither>}} [**Ignore Everybody**](https://www.amazon.com/Ignore-Everybody-Other-Keys-Creativity/dp/159184259X) **by Hugh MacLeod ($16)** 42 43 Give your nerd the motivation to finish that web application he's been 44 talking about for the last two years so you can retire. 45 46 {{<dither dce_moleskine.jpg "" "inline">}}A closed black notebook with cream-colored pages on a wooden table.{{</dither>}} [**Moleskine Notebook**](https://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Squared-Notebook-Cover-Pocket/dp/8883707125) **($10)** 47 48 What nerd doesn't love a new notebook? Just make sure it's graph paper; 49 unlined paper was not created for mathematical formulae and drawings of 50 robots. Alternatively, take a look at [Field 51 Notes](http://fieldnotesbrand.com). As for pens, I highly, *highly* 52 recommend the [Uni-ball 53 Signo](http://www.jetpens.com/product_info.php/cPath/239_90/products_id/466). 54 55 {{<dither dce_canon.jpg "" "inline">}}Black Canon compact digital camera with an extended lens and raised flash, viewed from the front.{{</dither>}} [**Canon PowerShot S90**](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002LITT42/) **($400)** 56 57 Packs the low-light photographic abilities of your nerd's DSLR into a 58 compact form factor that fits in his shirt pocket, right next to his 59 slide rule. 60 61 {{<dither dce_newegg.png "" "inline">}}Newegg logo with overlapping egg shapes and partially cropped “Gift Card” text on a white background with orange corners.{{</dither>}} [**Newegg Gift Card**](https://secure.newegg.com/GiftCertificate/GiftCardStep1.aspx) 62 63 If all else fails, a gift card from [Newegg](http://newegg.com) shows 64 you know your nerd a little better than the usual from Amazon. 65 66 {{<dither dce_moto_guzzi.jpg "" "inline">}}A white and black motorcycle parked on pavement beside a rocky hillside.{{</dither>}} [**Moto Guzzi V7 Classic**](http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/30/review-moto-guzzi-v7-classic-is-an-italian-beauty-you-can-live/) **($8500)** 67 68 Actually, this one's probably just me. 69 70 If your nerd is a little more design-oriented, check out Viget Inspire 71 for ideas from [Owen](https://www.viget.com/inspire/the-winter-scrooge/) 72 and 73 [Rob](https://www.viget.com/inspire/10-t-shirts-you-want-to-buy-a-designer/). 74 Got any other gift suggestions for the nerd in your life, or ARE YOU 75 YOURSELF a nerd?
